Namaste, I’m Kabiraj Negi Lama (कविराज नेगी लामा) — a passionate sports professional dedicated to developing athletes and advancing Para Taekwondo in Nepal.
Since 2015, I have been serving as the National Para Taekwondo Team Coach at the Nepal Taekwondo Association (NTA) on a voluntary basis. In addition, since 2018, I have been working as the Executive Assistant to the General Secretary’s Office at the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). My mission is to contribute meaningfully to the growth, professionalism, and international success of Nepali sports.
I am proud to be the grandson of former Minister Tilak Bahadur Negi Lama, whose legacy continues to inspire my journey in sports leadership and national service.
With extensive experience in coaching and sports administration, I hold a 6th Dan Black Belt, certified by Kukkiwon and the Nepal Taekwondo Association (2023). I have had the honor of coaching athletes at prestigious international events, including the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, achieving historic milestones for Nepal.
Under my guidance, Nepal has secured 13 official international medals — 3 gold, 2 silver, and 8 bronze — across major events such as the Paralympic Games, World Championships, World Grand Prix Final, Asian Games, and Asian Championships.
One of the most fulfilling moments of my coaching journey was guiding Palesha Goverdhan to Nepal’s first-ever Paralympic medal, a historic achievement for the nation.
I have been honored with numerous coaching awards and have received letters of appreciation and recognition from distinguished leaders and institutions, including:
-

Beyond Coaching
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy mentoring young athletes, traveling, and spending quality time with my family — especially my wife, Sunita Lama, and my daughter, Sangmu Negi Lama. I also enjoy playing the guitar.
I am deeply motivated by the opportunity to uplift and inspire the next generation of athletes. My ultimate goal is to continue making history for Nepal in Para Taekwondo by securing further landmark achievements at the Paralympic Games, World Championships, Asian Games, and other major international competitions.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my journey.
I welcome opportunities for collaboration and meaningful partnerships in the development of sports.
Thank you!
