Under my coaching, Palesha Goverdhan won Nepal's first-ever Paralympic bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, making history.
Under my coaching, my athlete Palesha Goverdhan won a historic bronze medal for Nepal at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympics, marking one of the biggest achievements in Nepali sports.
Palesha Goverdhan has been training with me since 2016, from her first international competition to the Paris 2024 Paralympics. She was just 13 years old when she participated in her first international championship.
Palesha Goverdhan won her opening match against Valeria Morales of Venezuela with an impressive score of 31-0. She then faced a tough loss to Silvana Fernandes of Brazil in a closely contested match, ending 8-10. Afterward, Goverdhan advanced to the Repechage round, competing for a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games at the Grand Palais. She triumphed in her first Repechage match, defeating Sophie Caverzan of France 2-1. In the Repechage final, she secured a 15-8 victory over Marija Mičev of Serbia, clinching the bronze medal and making history as Nepal's first-ever Paralympic medalist.
This historic win not only brought immense pride to the nation but also inspired countless athletes in Nepal to pursue their dreams, showcasing that with determination and support, anything is possible. Being part of this monumental achievement was a deeply rewarding experience that reinforced my commitment to nurturing talent and advancing Para Taekwondo in Nepal.
